Savannah Parrot
With a heavy focus on materials, vibrant colors synesthetically express the way inner feelings warp and twist into crocheted figures. Each representing a different moment in time and the unknowing experienced during vehemence.
Natural movement is a feature of many of Parrot's sculptural works. The subtle shifts of the earth allow works to perform their own form of dance, giving life to the creation and allowing it to have some control of its mobility.
This sentimentality also exists during the creation process. Parrot lets the material speak for itself and often pivots her initial plan if it feels like she is making the material perform in a way antithetical to its form. Giving up control of what the end result will look like, while still following the original intent in the later steps.
