Natalie Pellette
Drawing from personal and cultural narratives, Natalie Pellette creates visual collages that take the form of sculptures, installation, and, most recently, paintings. Her compositions combine familiar elements like commercial and household products in unfamiliar ways to evoke and distort the imagery of femininity and domesticity.
She begins this process by isolating, decontextualizing, and interrogating specific objects and materials, which she then uses as part of her visual vocabulary to build a scene. The result is neither immersive nor didactic but, instead, uncanny and interrogative.
