I Missed You Today (2022)
I have to objectives when it comes to my art: first, that it challenges me. For better or for worse, with my films I aim for an extremely ambitious scope. I refuse to default to the path of the least resistance; I'd far rather attempt to execute the visions that appeal the most to me, that I can pour my heart and soul into. Therefor, you can find everything from child actors to car crashes to eve laser-shooting robot spiders in my student films. I seek to create films that push me to think in new ways and broaden my horizons, that ultimately will help me improve as a filmmaker, editor, and even as a person in general. My second objective as a filmmaker is to ensure that the entities that comprise my film's form and content (sound, cinematography, narrative, colors, lighting, editing, acting, etc.) successfully convey an emotion. Whether that emotion be laughter, excitement, curosity, anger, sadness, confusion, or fear, it is my intention that the film generate a distinctive feeling within the audience, ideally a multitude of them.
