What if roles were reversed?

What if humans were placed in zoos and labs,
bred, observed, and slaughtered by animals?

Alexia's installation stands as an exploration of reversal, reflection, nature, future, and technology. Curious in the shift of perspectives, she inverts the observer-observed dynamic between humans and animals, and envelops visitors in an immersive environment under the watchful gaze of glowing, oversized animal eyes. These eyes, crafted from painted balloons, mimic the depth and complexity of real animal gazes, while fairy lights infuse them with a lifelike sparkle, creating a vibrant, otherworldly ambiance. At the heart of the installation lies the reflection of homogeneity and heterogeneity; it questions the foundations of human society imposed upon the animal world. It provokes us to consider our place in the natural order: Are we truly distinct from other animals, or are we fundamentally the same?
