Established in 1973 by the family and friends of Christine Croneis Sayres, the daughter of the late Rice University Chancellor Carey Croneis and Mrs. Croneis.  The award is made annually to one or more graduating students whose work in visual art shows growth, promise, and personal commitment.  The award may be used for scholarship, research, or travel.  The scholarship is available to students studying studio art practice or film.
